What's On

Welcome

Established in 1944, we are a target archery club in Lower Hutt.

We promote recreational and competitive archery and welcome novices and experienced archers. We have qualified instructors, equipment available for beginners to use, run courses throughout the year and host tournaments regularly.

We are affiliated to the Wellington Archery Association and Archery New Zealand, which is affiliated to the World Archery Federation and the International Olympic Committee.

Beginners Courses

Our qualified coaches run courses for adults and children from the age of twelve from October through May. No experience is necessary and we provide all of the equipment required.

Courses consist of four two-hour sessions held over successive weeks and cover safety, equipment, shooting, and scoring. We provide Olympic-style recurve bows and teach Olympic-style archery but the skills taught are applicable to all forms of archery.

Upon completion of a course you will be able to shoot safely and qualified to shoot unsupervised. We will award you a certificate that will enable you to join any archery club in New Zealand and give you a 50% discount on your first year's membership if you choose to join Randwick. Having observed your shooting your coaches will be able to provide you with personalized advice on suitable equipment purchases.

Courses are scheduled irregularly and often at fairly short notice. Subscribe to our mailing list and we will email you when dates are confirmed.

Visiting Archers

Our range is not open to the general public but if you are a member of another archery club you are welcome to shoot at Randwick upon payment of a mound fee or to join us an associate member. Email our Field Captain to arrange access.

Joining the Club

If you are a beginner you will have to pass a beginners course before you join the club.

If you have completed a beginners course with us, are a former member wishing to rejoin or an existing member wishing to renew your membership: email our registrar.

If you have completed a beginners course elsewhere, been a member of another archery club or have been shooting for several years: email our head coach.
